Sing-A-Long Old man look at my life, I'm a lot like you were. Old man look at my life, I'm a lot like you were. Old man look at my life, Twenty four and there's so much more Live alone in a paradise That makes me think of two. Love lost, such a cost, Give me things that don't get lost. Like a coin that won't get tossed Rolling home to you. Old man take a look at my life I'm a lot like you I need someone to love me the whole day through Ah, one look in my eyes and you can tell that's true. Lullabies, look in your eyes, Run around the same old town. Doesn't mean that much to me To mean that much to you. I've been first and last Look at how the time goes past. But I'm all alone at last. Rolling home to you. Old man take a look at my life I'm a lot like you I need someone to love me the whole day through Ah, one look in my eyes and you can tell that's true. Old man look at my life, I'm a lot like you were. Old man look at my life, I'm a lot like you were. Recorded 23rd February 1971 BBC Television Theatre, Shepherd's Bush, London.

Artist Illustrates Everyday Life With His Wife And It's Too Hilarious
When you have a wife who is your friend and can get all crazy with you, married life actually does get a hell lot of exciting! This artist captured his private conversation with his better half in beautiful comics! Comics bring out the perspective of artists that words fail to convey. So Javis decided to make illustrations that have his private conversation with his wife. Javis said "When someone tells me my wife is hot, I have felt compelled to say “thanks”, which is weird. I had no part in her attractiveness. Also, the strange sentiment that I somehow beat the system by being lucky enough to trick her into marrying me is a thing." Neil Young - Old Man & Heart Of Gold [1971]
BBC In Concert (Shepherd's Bush Studios, 23 February 1971) Neil Percival Young (born November 12, 1945) is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician. He began performing in a group covering Shadows instrumentals in Canada in 1960, before moving to California in 1966, where he co-founded the band Buffalo Springfield along with Stephen Stills and Richie Furay, later joining Crosby, Stills & Nash as a fourth member in 1969. He forged a successful and acclaimed solo career, releasing his first album in 1968; his career has since spanned over 40 years and 35 studio albums, with a continual and uncompromising exploration of musical styles. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website describes Young as "one of rock and roll's greatest songwriters and performers". He has been inducted into the Hall of Fame twice: first as a solo artist in 1995, and second as a member of Buffalo Springfield in 1997. Young's work is characterized by his distinctive guitar work, deeply personal lyrics and signature alto or high tenor singing voice. Although he accompanies himself on several different instruments, including piano and harmonica, his idiosyncratic electric and clawhammer acoustic guitar playing are the defining characteristics of a varyingly ragged and melodic sound. While Young has experimented with differing music styles, including swing and electronic music throughout a varied career, his best known work usually falls into two primary styles: acoustic (folk and country rock) and electric (amplified hard rock, very often in collaboration with the band Crazy Horse). Young has also adopted elements from newer styles such as alternative rock and grunge. His influence on the latter caused some to dub him the "Godfather of Grunge". Young has directed (or co-directed) a number of films using the pseudonym Bernard Shakey, including Journey Through the Past (1973), Rust Never Sleeps (1979), Human Highway (1982), Greendale (2003), and CSNY/Déjà Vu (2008). Young is an outspoken advocate for environmental issues and the welfare of small farmers, having co-founded in 1985 the benefit concert Farm Aid. In 1986, Young helped found The Bridge School, an educational organization for children with severe verbal and physical disabilities, and its annual supporting Bridge School Benefit concerts, together with his wife Pegi Young (née Morton). Young has three children: sons Zeke (born during his relationship with actress Carrie Snodgress) and Ben, who were diagnosed with cerebral palsy, and daughter Amber Jean who, like Young himself, has epilepsy. Young lives on his ranch in La Honda, California. Although he has lived in northern California since the 1970s and sings as frequently about U.S. themes and subjects as he does about his native country, he has retained his Canadian citizenship. On July 14, 2006, Young was awarded the Order of Manitoba, and on December 30, 2009, was made an Officer of the Order of Canada. "Old Man" is a song written and performed by Neil Young on his 1972 album "Harvest". It was written for the caretaker of the Northern California Broken Arrow Ranch, which Young purchased for $350,000 in 1970. The song compares a young man's life to an old man's and shows that the young man has, to some extent, the same needs as the old one. James Taylor played six-string banjo (tuned like a guitar) and sang on the song, and Linda Ronstadt also contributed vocals. "Heart Of Gold" is also a song by Neil Young (also included on "Harvest"). It is so far Young's only U.S. #1 single. In Canada, it reached #1 on the RPM national singles chart for the first time on April 8, 1972, on which date Young held the top spot on both the singles and albums charts. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked it #297 on their list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. Featuring backup vocals of James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt, it is one of a series of soft acoustic pieces which were written partly as a result of a back injury. Unable to stand for long periods of time, Young could not play his electric guitar and so returned to his acoustic guitar, which he could play sitting down. He also played his harmonica during the three instrumental portions, including the Introduction to the song. In 2005, "Heart Of Gold" was named the third greatest Canadian song of all time on the CBC Radio One series 50 Tracks: The Canadian Version.

America's elderly prisoner boom | The Economist
Thanks to ultra-long sentences, America's 2.3m prisoners are getting older. Under the 'Gold coats' programme in California, younger inmates look after elderly ones Subscribe NOW to The Economist: http://econ.st/1Fsu2Vj Prisons are becoming America's biggest old people's homes. Now the country that locks up more people than anywhere else must deal with the consequences of a growing prison population. Growing old in prison is hard. Samuel Baxter is an inmate here at the California men's colony prison in San Luis Obispo almost everyday for the past four years Mr Baxter has helped elderly prisoners get dressed, eat, and get about prison. It is a confronting job. In America some 2.2 million people are behind bars, and the prisoners are getting older. The number of people over the age of 65 who were in prison has doubled since 2007. In fact, aging men and women are the most rapidly growing part of America's prison population. In part, this is the hangover effect of the 1980s and 90s when a perfect storm of high crime rates and tough sentencing laws caused prison populations to soar. Phillip Burdick is 64. He works alongside Mr Baxter in a program called the Gold Coats. The volunteer inmates who become Gold Coats are carefully screened and shadow an experienced volunteer sometimes for several months of training. Older prisoners often have special needs; some have problems with mobility, others dementia or mental health. Caring for the elderly behind bars presents unique challenges. Prisoners can have the physiological age of someone 10 to 15 years older. Glenn Crites has been in prison for 44 years, since he was 20 years old, for murder. He remembers catching another elderly prisoner, nicknamed Pops, staring at him. Pops had Alzheimer's. He was trying to remember who Mr Crites was. He didn't fight Pop's, but older inmates are more vulnerable than younger ones. Of the 1.6 million inmates in state and federal prisons, 1/10 are serving life sentences. Many politicians are now keen to reverse this mass incarceration but long timers seem unlikely to benefit. In California, a bid to reduce prison populations means less serious criminals now serve time in county jails or in the community. The inmates left behind tend to be the ones serving longer sentences. These are often the elderly. America spends about 16 billion dollars every year caring for older inmates. The gold coats program aims to allay some of those costs. Volunteers are paid a mere 36 dollars a month. A fraction of what outside help, like a nursing assistant, would cost the prison. Despite the challenges, the Gold Coats continue to help their aging counterparts. Mr Baxter has a particularly personal reason for wanting to do so; his mother had dementia. Mr Baxter is serving 35 years to life in prison for fatally shooting a man. He had his first parole hearing in March, but was turned down. He won't receive another review for at least five years and he has come to realize the Gold Coats may one day be caring for him. For the elderly men who are released after decades behind bars, there may no longer be any friends or family on the outside who can provide care. Not everyone here will be granted parole. Some of these men will die in prison. For those nearing the end of their lives Mr Burdick serves as a grief counselor in the prison hospice program. If you believe this story can inspire and help change someone's life, I encourage you to please SHARE it! This transformation is one of epic proportions and a life-saving change. This man, a single widowed father raising his three sons went through life never looking for glory or praise, always living in deep commitment and always providing for those dear and close. I decided to take him on as my "client" as I was concerned by the unhealthy physical and psychological trends that were occurring. Committing to a transformation requires reshaping your whole person. Not only are you bettering yourself when you decide to make these changes, but you are making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around you. Dino was a smoker for 30+ years and lost both his parents and wife at a very young age. Aside from all of the external stressors in his life; his health, or lack there of, was bringing him down. With extremely high blood pressure and cholesterol, weighing in at over 300 lbs, he was soon diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. The doctors were concerned and his family was distraught. Habits are hard to break and almost become unconscious thoughts based on previous experience. Engaging in an alternative behavior and developing self-discipline and self-awareness will assist in gaining the will power to overcome an unhealthy and dangerous habit. He once told me he was inspired by my own transformation, and was a follower and enormous supporter of Fusaro Fitness. He was ready to make a change and listened without hesitation. Taking the time to further understand nutrition, tracking macronutrients, and correct training and nutrition protocols he was on board. With no access to anything but a small gym at work, his lunch break soon became "gym time." Sacrifices had to be made, but with a goal and a vision in mind, no excuses were acceptable. Continuing to track his progress and focus on small improvements, he was dropping weight and seeing results. Him and I were both on the same level of understanding, where mediocrity was simply unacceptable. Everyone wants to achieve their dreams but unfortunately in this "success-driven" world, the vast majority of people aren't willing to put in the necessary work to attain greatness. Currently, at 54 years old he is weighing in at 180lbs down from over 300. His blood work is excellent and he is off many of his prescribed medications. He is also smoke free for years now. This was all done without surgery, special pills, powder or supplements. It was done with a combination of hard work, dedication and consistency. Remember that success will never come easily, nor will it come automatically. What separates the great from the rest is not just a reoccurring dream but how they deal with the inevitable difficulties in life. Let's stop throwing this phrase "I Can't" around, because what the majority of us mean is "I won't" or "I am too afraid to try." Repeating, "I can't" is a good way to reinforce that message in your mind and make you truly believe it. The use of this negative language can be self-prophesying and we can bypass that by putting positive affirmations into our mind. It is perfectly fine to not want to do something, but more important to acknowledge the fact that if you wanted to do something YOU CAN. By saying "I can't" we remove any responsibility and convince ourselves we are powerless, but saying "I won't" implies that if we wanted to we could, but we choose not to. 'Won't" is more empowering so when we realize we are not the victim and come to terms that we DO have control over our lives, we will feel a huge sense of relief. Remember, We Are Limitless! The Oldest Man In The World 256 Years Breaks The Silence Before His Death And Reveals Its Secret
The Oldest Man In The World 256 Years Breaks The Silence Before His Death And Reveals Its Secret To The World The New York Times article from 1930 shows that Wu Chung-Chieh, a professor on the Chengdu University, discovered some Imperial Chinese government records from 1827 congratulating Li Ching-Yuen on his 150th birthday. He went further with the documents, later congratulating him on his 200th birthday in 1877. A New York Times correspondent in 1928 wrote that several of the old men in Li’s neighborhood stated that when their grandfathers were boys, they knew him and at that time he was a grown man. Li Ching Yuen in fact began his herbalist career when he was 10. He was gathering herbs in the mountain ranges and he learned of their potency for longevity. For nearly 40 years, he lived on a diet of herbs like wild ginseng, lingzhi, goji berry, gotu kola and he shoo wu and rice wine. In 1749, when he was 71 years old, he is joining the Chinese army as teacher of martial arts. Li was known as a much-loved figure in his community. He was married 23 times and is a father of more than 200 children. According to the commonly accepted tales that were told in his province, Li was able to read and write since he was a child, and by his 10th birthday had traveled in Shansi, Tibet, Kansu, Annam, Siam and Manchuria in order to gather some herbs. For the first 100 years he continued with his occupation. Then he switched to selling herbs that the others were gathering. He sold wild ginseng, lingzhi, goji berry, he shou wu and gotu kola as well as some other Chinese herbs, and he lived of a diet of these herbs and the rice wine. He Wasn’t The Only One As one of the Li’s supporters said, once he had encountered a man who was more than 500 years old, who taught him of the Qigong exercises and dietary recommendations which would help him to extend his lifespan to superhuman proportions. Apart from Qigong and herb-rich diet, what more can we learn from this Master of Longevity? https://youtu.be/TXeag2-o66E

179 Year Old Man Found In India- Mahashta Mûrasi
India, “the grandmother of legend and the cradle of human civilization” (Mark Twain), throws another stupefying nugget our way. Mahashta Mûrasi, from the holy city of Benares, one of the oldest cities in the world, claims to be 179 years old. The gent says that he was born in 1835 (i.e., before the American Civil War was fought and before India’s first battle of independence in 1857). The amazing thing here is that there is a record of Mr. Murasi having lived in Benares since 1903. Old age, though, does not come without its problems. His family and friends long gone, Mr. Murasi laments that “death has forgotten me.” Mr. Murasi was a cobbler by profession and pursued his trade till 1957, by which time he was already a ripe 122 years of age. What could be the secret of this modern immortal? A secret potion, the recipe of which is now lost in the mists of time, or a boon from the gods? Medical mystery or hoax, it should not be difficult to decide. Apparently, the man’s identity cards and documents tend to confirm his story. But, then, if true, why didn’t this come out before? I would like to think of this as not a hoax. I’m sure the sexagenarian in question feels the same. How about you? (source – eshowbizbuzz)

Jinjing The Penguin - Swims 5000 Miles Every Year To Visit The Man Who Saved Him
This is a story about Jinjing the South American Magellanic Penguin, that swims 5,000 miles each year to be reunited with the man who saved his life. The rescued Penguin was saved by João Pereira de Souza, a 73 year old part-time fisherman, who lives in an island village just outside Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Joao found the tiny penguin, at his local beach lying on rocks, it was covered in oil, could barely move and was close to death. Joao cleaned the oil off the penguin's feathers and fed him a daily diet of fish to build his strength. He named the penguin Jin Jing. Every year the Penguin leaves to the breeding grounds and then returns to Joao. Thanks for watching Note: Some say the penguins name is Dindin, but when I was researching this story, I found the Wall Street Journal had both a website article & a video covering the story saying the penguins name is Jinjing. ► Here is Article Link = https://www.wsj.com/articles/beached-in-brazil-a-young-penguin-finds-his-human-soul-mate-1445560828 ____________________________________________________________________ ► Wonder World Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/wonderworld.ytc.10 ► Wonder World Twitter - https://twitter.com/WonderWorld_YTC For business enquiries, content submission or copyright concerns or disputes, please contact us me

Kingman AZ, May 10, 2012. I was helping a guy that needed some help, he was trying to get to Amarillo Texas and he told me of an old man living out in the desert not far from where he had pitched his tent for a few nights. So, we parked at a truck stop and walked on foot out to where he was located. The old man seemed perfectly sane, very educated and sharp. One of his former jobs was down in Tucson Arizona as a manager of a transportation company, in which got disenchanted with the way others within the company were doing their jobs.. Now he's decided to live without any income whatsoever, living in desert areas of the southwest, and won't apply for social security retirement benefits, although he could qualify.

88-year-old retires and lives on cruise ship
An estimated 24 million people are expected to take cruises this year. One report showed more than a quarter of them are age 60 or older, and more than one-fifth are retired. For many of those passengers, the ships are like a second home, but for one woman, ocean liner Crystal Serenity is her only home. Peter Greenberg reports.
