10 Animals That Were Recently Discovered

► Subscribe: https://goo.gl/vHN6qB For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] The animal kingdom is diverse and fascinating, and there are many different versions of the same species all over the planet. In some areas, such as the deepest reaches of the Amazon Rainforest, we know very little about all the creatures that exist there. And while us humans tend to think of ourselves as the masters of our world, it cannot be denied that there are many weird and wonderful things on Planet Earth of which we are simply unaware. That’s why everyone becomes so excited when we discover a new plant or animal species. Recently scientists have discovered new species of wasp, shark, ape, and even new animals descended from Dinosaurs! With that in mind, here are 10 amazing animals that have only been discovered in recent years. Squalus Clarkae Also known as the “Genie’s Dogfish,” this tiny member of the shark family, specifically the dogfish shark, grows just 20 to 28 inches long. Found in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico, this dainty predator has huge, anime-like eyes which are perfect for seeing in the deep, dark waters. Calistoga Crassicaudata Despite being just 9.8 millimeters long, this species of parasitic wasp is native to the Amazon, and is one of the most nightmarish creatures on this list. Its stinger is about half the length of its tiny body and is also an “ovipositor.” This means that that stinger also deposits eggs, along with a paralytic toxin into the wound it creates. Caelestiventus Hanseni This entry has been, thankfully, discovered post extinction. If you think we’re cruel for saying this, just wait until you hear about C.Hanseni! C. Hanseni was, in fact, a breed of Giant Pterosaur which sported no less than 110 teeth and 4 seriously wicked fangs. The scientists responsible for discovering it estimate that it may have had a wingspan of around 4.9 feet and fangs 2.5 centimeters in length. Mansourasaurus shahinae The second ancient discovery on our list is less carnivorous, but no less terrifying for its vegetarian nature. The Mansourasaurus was found in Egypt by archeologists in late 2017. This sauropod was long-necked, long-tailed, and the size of a modern-day bus! What makes this discovery so exciting? Dendrocerus Scutellaris Another member of the wasp family which has been discovered in recent years, D.Scutellaris is also a parasitic wasp that seems to have cut its way straight from a scary movie. Like it’s cousin C.Crassicaudata, this wasp lays eggs inside of a host. The larvae then hatch and, well you get the rest. Despite this, D.Scutellaris lacks the strong, pointy jaws that most endoparasitoid wasps use to chew their way free. Tardigrades Lovers of weird and wonderful animals will already know about the famously sturdy Tardigrade or as its sometimes called “water bear”. This tiny microscopic creature can survive in extreme cold down to negative -328 degrees Fahrenheit and extreme heat up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. In fact, they can even survive in the intense radiation and crushing vacuum of space! Talk about a super-creature, right? Shastasaurid The creatures of the world’s oceans remain more mysterious than even the surface of the moon; deep dwelling animals are still being discovered, today, and so it is little surprise that we are still becoming aware of now extinct species. Junzi Imperialis The burials of ancient Chinese royals were very often flamboyant and outlandish affairs which displayed the wealth and importance of the person through the goods they were buried with. Even still, archaeologists were surprised to find the remains of an extinct and ancient member of the Gibbon family within the burial menagerie of the grandmother of China’s first Emperor. The Bryant Shark Thanks to recent movies and media, the public is more aware of ancient sea life than ever before. Jurassic World, and The Meg have brought huge, sea-dwelling dinos into the public eye. But while we know about the infamous Megalodon, the largest shark to ever exist, few are aware of the ongoing search for one of its ancestors Orthrozanclus Elongata With an armored back and spikes lining its sides, this 515-million-year-old critter would probably give most people a nasty scare if they were to see it in person. The cocktail-stick-like spikes on its back were longer than the creature was wide and extended like sunbursts. Discoverer Dr. Martin Smith remarks that this would have made them look rather like a cuddly cactus. We hope you enjoyed this video! Let us know which one of these animals was your favorite. AMAZING Recently Discovered Species

09:20
You’d think by now we’ve done a pretty good job at cataloguing all of the species in the world, but we’re far from done! Scientists believe there are around 8.7 million species in the world, with between 1 and 2 million of those being animals. And it’s thought the vast majority have not even been documented yet. 2017 saw a number of fascinating new discoveries, and we’ll touch on some of them today. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 10 - Not for human consumption… Don’t let the name Churro mislead you, there is nothing tasty about this new marine worm that was discovered in the Gulf of California in 2017. They’ve called it Churro because of the striking resemblance to a Churro, the delicious fried-dough pastry dessert that is dipped into sweet sauces. This worm is between 4 and 10 inches and feeds off molluscs like clams. 9 - Feeling Blue... I would be too if faced with this bright blue tarantula that was discovered in Guyana. It doesn’t even have a name yet, that’s how new it is! It was spotted by Andrew Snyder, who says his flashlight bounced off something very blue, which he thought was just a reflection. When he went closer, he was really surprised to see the bright blue legs of the spider. Firstly, this is the first blue tarantula found in South America, as they’re usually found in Southeast Asia, and secondly, this one was living in a colony, which is very unusual for spiders. 8 - 5 a day… If you’re brave, you can add this bizarre fruit to yours! It’s the obscure relative of the tomato, and it was discovered in Australia. This fruit has been known to botanists for 50 years already, but it was only described officially in 2017. 7th graders helped name this weird fruit the deathly fruit, and when cut open, the flesh of the fruit changes from whitish green to blood red and then matures into a dry, white bony state. The fruit looks very unappetising, and I doubt it’s going to be flying off the shelves anytime soon! 7 - Blooming marvellous… A new species of orchid was found last year, called the devil orchid aka Telipogon diabolicus. This orchid is a fusion of male and female flower parts and as you can see, looks a lot like the head of the devil! This plant is only found in a certain area of Columbia, which is currently threatened by reconstruction. 6 - Now you see me… Now you don’t! You’re aware of how lizards drop their tails in order to escape a predator, but this newly discovered gecko takes things a little further. This creature is covered with overlapping scales, and when it’s in trouble, has the ability to shed those scales and make a quick, naked getaway. Within a few weeks, those scales have grown back and the gecko is ready for action once again. 5 - Down Under… We head down 13,000 feet below the surface of the Pacific Ocean to meet a new species of sponge that was confirmed in 2017. Plenaster craigi have been found in 2013 and 2015, and it was just last year that it was confirmed as an official new species. It was discovered in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone, and live on metal-rich nodules that are common in that area. 4 - Look familiar? Pictured here is the Arcella gandalfi, and if you’ve watched Lord of the Rings, you’ll know why it got that name. These freshwater amoebas were rumoured to exist in Brazil, but they’ve only recently been discovered and confirmed to be real. Considering they’re a single cell organism, these amoeba’s are quite big, measuring 81 micrometers in diameter and 71 micrometers in height. 3 - Pretty in Pink… This is the Pink Floyd pistol shrimp, a new species of snapping shrimp found in the waters off the Pacific coast of Panama. Pink Floyd happened to be one of the favourite bands of the scientists who discovered it. As if the neon pink claw wasn’t strange enough, this crazy shrimp can kill its prey with noise! The snap of that giant claw is loud and powerful that it creates cavitation bubbles, which then burst into the prey, either stunning them or killing them. The sound reaches levels of 210 decibels, which is louder than a gunshot! 2 - No lazing around… An ancient giant sloth fossil was also found in 2017, hidden in an underwater cave in the jungle of the Yucatán in Mexico. This area is not known for many fossil finds, because the humid environment tends to destroy any traces of bones. Vicente Fito went diving in a limestone cave in 2009 where he made this remarkable discovery. He gave the bones to the National Institute of Anthropology and History in Mexico, where they’ve spent all this time piecing everything together. This new species of sloth is thought to weigh around 500-pounds! Apparently the oldest sloth fossil ever found is roughly 9 million years old, and was found in Argentina. 1...

Deep Sea Creatures [National Geographic Documentary 2017 HD]

53:56
Deep Sea Creatures [National Geographic Documentary 2017 HD] The Deep sea creature refers to organisms that live below the photic zone of the ocean. These creatures must survive in extremely harsh conditions, such as hundreds of bars of pressure, small amounts of oxygen, very little food, no sunlight, and constant, extreme cold. Most creatures have to depend on food floating down from above. These creatures live in very demanding environments, such as the abyssal or hadal zones, which, being thousands of meters below the surface, are almost completely devoid of light. The water is between 3 and 10 degrees Celsius and has low oxygen levels. Due to the depth, the pressure is between 20 and 1,000 bars. Creatures that live hundreds or even thousands of meters deep in the ocean have adapted to the high pressure, lack of light, and other factors. The depths of the ocean are festooned with the most nightmarish creatures imaginable. You might think you’re safe, because these critters live thousands of feet down in a cold dark abyss, but the vampire squid, which looks like a nightmare umbrella, and the frilled shark—a literal living fossil—will live on in the recesses of your mind long after you’ve clicked away. Enjoy these deep sea horrors and try to have a relaxing day afterward. ► NOTE : I'm a big fan of National Geographic and I just collect the best parts of National Geographic. I do not make money from National Geographic's Video. Thanks You very much

10 Creepy Sea Creatures You Didn't Know Existed

04:33
Did you know any of these amazing and scary deep sea creatures? It's hard to believe these bizarre animals exist. Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg 'Hatchet Fish' footage by Filmic Art : www.filmicart.com For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Description: There is a vast world below the ocean that we have yet to discover in its entirety. While we seem to know nearly everything about the land, the sea still leaves much to be desired. As you go down into the depths of the ocean, you’ll notice a lot will change. For one, you’ll begin to be immersed in darkness. Second, the pressure will change. So, the creatures that have been discovered deep in the oceanic depths are quite different biologically, and they can be quite terrifying to look at. But once we begin to understand them, we can start to learn more about our existence, and even come closer to curing diseases and solving some of the world’s most complex mysteries. However, the sea creatures that have been discovered recently have shown to be just downright creepy and terrifying. You probably recall the Angler Fish, especially if you’re seen the Disney movie, “Finding Nemo”. If you didn’t realize that this fish is the real deal, get ready for new additions to your nightmares. It wasn’t a work of fiction or some messed up fantasy of some Disney Imagineer. The fish that we see in this video is actually female, and the male is a small weakling, wandering the sea to find a female with her pheromones. The male then attaches itself to the female and becomes a parasite. Every part of the male merges with the female except for the testicles, which the female uses to impregnate herself. Jokes aside, this is quite a fascinating process despite how creepy it is. Similar to the angler fish is the Viper Fish, which has a natural extra attachment that illuminates in the darkness of the sea with the purpose of attracting prey. The blob fish is a creature that you wonder what God was smoking or shooting up when he decided to create the blob fish. This fish has no bones, and literally just hangs out on the ocean floor and hopes that food comes to its mouth. Whether you want to worship the blob fish for its epic level of laziness or wonder how in the world the species is still in existence with such an apathetic demeanor, it’s still creepy to look at. Then we have the goblin shark, which is pretty much like the underwater version of the alien from the movie “Alien” due to its protruding mouth. The goblin shark has a large snout and needle-like teeth that are sharp and deadly. For a completely random sea creature, we have the Christmas Tree Worms, which really look like tiny walking fir trees that come in different colors. The branches or hair-like appendages help them breathe as well as consume phytoplankton. Then we have the sea pig, which looks nothing like the pigs we have on land. But instead the sea pig is a multi-tubed foot sea creature that is closely related to the sea cucumber. It eats by pulling water and absorbing organic food. Quite innovative, even though it looks creepy. For more creepy sea creatures, check out the rest of the video for more. Most SPOOKY Sea Creatures In The World!

11:18
Check out the Most SPOOKY Sea Creatures In The Ocean! From terrifying deep sea monsters to mysterious and bizarre animals, this top 10 list of weird ocean creatures will amaze you! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "REAL Mermaid Sightings Around The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/ChM0CBRmVsM Watch our "10 Sea Monsters ATTACKING A Boat!" video here: https://youtu.be/0XROvoPCDNc Watch our "STRANGEST Animals People Keep As Pets!" video here: https://youtu.be/OMa96nPqz-Y 7. Northern Stargazer Astroscopus guttatus is a strange-looking fish that’s known more commonly as the Northern Stargazer. In paradoxical contrast to its romantic-sounding name, the Northern Stargazer is, for lack of a better term, unattractive, if not downright homely. It dwells at the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay and along the eastern seaboard of the United States, from North Carolina to New York, in waters up to 120 feet deep. So if you live around here, keep an eye out! 6. Giant Squid Until 2006, the existence of the giant squid was considered to be barely more realistic than that of the Yeti, the Loch Ness Monster, Sasquatch, and dozens of other creatures that were rumored to exist, but remained largely relegated to mythological status. The only thing that placed the giant squid a notch or two above the rest of those creatures were the scars left on whales and the discovery of their carcasses by fishermen after having floated to the water’s surface. 5. Black Dragonfish The black dragonfish is a deep-sea dweller that resides about 2,000 meters below the ocean’s surface. The amazing thing about this guy is that is represents one of the most extreme cases of sexual dimorphism, which refers to a distinct difference between the sexes in size or appearance that exceeds the fundamental difference between sexual organs. 4. Deep Sea Anglerfish Like the black dragonfish, male deep sea anglerfish are smaller than females. In this case, some male species of anglerfish are parasitic, and subsist by attaching themselves to the body of a female. While they may not have a gut, they do have teeth! 3. Goblin Shark The goblin shark is a rare species of deep-sea shark. It’s the only surviving relative of a 125-million-year-old lineage known as the family Mitsukurinidae. Because of this, the goblin shark has earned the nickname “living fossil.” The goblin shark’s distinctive appearance is creepy to begin with: it’s pink-skinned with an elongated, flattened snout that resembles a sword blade. 2. Blobfish Our next spooky sea creature is, quite possibly, the world’s ugliest animal. I don’t know, between this and the deep sea angler fish, which one do you think?? Let me know in the comments below!! It goes through life doing exactly what you’d probably expect a blob to do - not much. In the deep waters off the coasts of Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand that it calls home, the blobfish survives essentially by drifting around on the ocean floor at great depths and eating whatever appears in front of it, namely deepwater crustaceans. 1. Frilled Shark At first glance, the frilled shark looks like something you might see in a science fiction movie - perhaps, for example, an unlikely hybrid between an eel and a shark. The frilled shark however, is real. Like the goblin shark, it’s often referred to as a “living fossil,” a nickname that alludes to the minimal change the species has undergone since prehistoric times. Science Can't Explain What's Happening In 2018... Description: Weird and strange things seem to happen on a daily basis, and if it weren’t for video cameras and the internet we would probably never see most of them. But of course you don’t have to fret because everyone here at Top 5 Supreme is committed to bringing you the best content around! Today is no different as we bring you an extra special video called Science Can’t Explain What’s Happening in 2018! So let’s get rolling! #5 Mysterious Sea Creature In May of 2018 one of the largest and mysterious looking animals ever discovered washed onto the shore on a beach in the Philippines, and you’ve got to see this. The animal, or whatever this was, came in at over 20 feet long, and some said that it had a very undeniable and unbelievable smell. Some locals took this sighting as a very negative sign of things to come, with a few even claiming that this animal is a sign of impending danger – possibly even an apocalypse. Some researchers however simply contend that this was just the carcass of a large, known, sea animal, yet haven’t been able to say what it was for sure. Interesting. Let us know what you think this could be in the comment section. #4 Ghost Ships A strange thing has been happening in Japan over the last few years. Mysterious ships, or ghost ships as some experts have labeled them, have been drifting towards the coast. Researchers are saying that the ghost ships are coming from North Korea, though no one knows whether or not that’s true. This is especially creepy because just last year 104 more of these ghost ships, or vessels discovered with no living crew on board, were found on Japan’s shores just last year. The most disturbing part is that most of the boats were found with multiple dead bodies on it. Without knowing exactly where the ships are coming from, and with North Korea and Japan not having the happiest of diplomatic relationships, Japan’s efforts to return the ships to their senders has proven to be a difficult task. #3 Wessex Way Monster Earlier this year some very strange tape was sent in, and according to multiple experts it appears that the famed Wessex Way Monster was caught on film. The footage was caught on the A338 Road in southern England, and what appears on time is startling. In the video you can see what appears to be a humanoid creature galloping, using his forearms as some sort of legs or feet, and scurries across the road. According to the locals of this area, this particular stretch of freeway runs more than 20 miles in a pure wooded area, with many people claiming to see or hear of some sort of monster in local folklore. #2 Barrier Islands Earlier this year, in the state of Georgia, a very weird and mysterious sea animal washed up onto the shore at the Wolf Island National Wildlife Refuge. Experts in the area have stated that this crazy looking sea monster could be 1 of several different animals, and didn’t rule out the possibility that this could be a brand new species that we’ve never even seen before. If you have any thoughts of what it could be, go ahead and let us know your opinion in the comment section below. #1 3 Fingered Mummy Earlier this year one of the most historic discoveries of all time was made. A British researcher believes that he may have found a new species of human after completing a bunch of scientific tests on a mummy that’s over 1800 years old. The 3 fingered mummy is said to be 98.5 percent primate, with 1.5 percent of it’s makeup left as just ‘unknown’. This could be a groundbreaking discovery, and we’ll be sure to keep you up to date on what new comes out of this. And that’s today’s video! 19 INCREDIBLY Colorful Sea Creatures

09:30
From Nemo, the clownfish, to the beautiful and elusive Blue Sea Slug, these are 19 INCREDIBLY Colorful Sea Creatures ! 8. Blue Tang -- Undersea creatures seem to look really cool in blue … and this one is no exception. The Blue Tang shows off some amazing blue coloration complemented by bold black markings. It almost sounds like a fashion shows, right? These fish are usually found in Indo-Pacific waters and are actually bright yellow when they’re younger. The blue and black colors show up at their final phase of development. 7. Coral -- Is that a brain at the bottom of the ocean? No … but it is a brain coral … and just an example of the wide ranging variety of living coral and coral reefs, some of which are thought to have started growing over 50 million years ago. Contrary to some beliefs, coral are animals, not plants … they’re actually related to anemones and jellyfish. The reefs formed by coral provide housing for thousands of marine species, giving them a place to find food, reproduce, and keep them safe until they’re mature enough to venture into the deeper ocean. Did you know coral reef plants and animals have proven important to the development of new medicines to treat cancer, Alzheimer's and heart disease? But even with all those advantages, human activity is threatening almost 60 percent of the world’s coral reefs. 6. Flower Hat Jellyfish -- This rare species of jellyfish is a rare species usually found in the waters of southern japan, Argentina and Brazil. It can grow to a half-foot in diameter, and is easily recognizable by its translucent bell, which is pinstriped with opaque bands. Those coiling tentacles adhere to the rim while not in use. Like many pretty looking things, this jelly carries a sting … but even though it’s painful, it’s non-lethal to humans … the worst you’d get is a rash. 5. Blue Sea Slug -- We couldn’t find a lot of information on this critter. From what we’ve seen, it’s often identified as a Blue Sea Slug … but that sounds like a pedestrian name for such a colorful creature. You can see the brilliant blue coloration in this photo … the animal almost looks like an alien life form with the two antennae sticking up. We’re guessing it might be a Nudibranch (new-di-brank). Those mollusks are noted for their striking colors, and there are more than 2,300 validated species scattered about the world. Can you confirm that? Let us know in the comments! 4. Mantis Shrimp -- They’re one of the most colorful forms of marine life, but don’t be fooled. They’re also known as ferocious undersea predators that possess, pound for pound, one of the most powerful punches on the planet. Punching with speed equal to a .22 caliber bullet, the Mantis Shrimp has not only broken shells of its prey … it’s also broken through aquarium glass. Punching at that velocity makes water vaporize and explode with a sharp bang, a flash of light and extremely high heat, all of which is felt by the victim as an additional blast. Not bad for an animal that averages less than four inches long. 3. Juvenile Emperor Angelfish -- Their coloration will change with age … but while they’re young, they exhibit these amazing displays of swirling dark blue, white and electric blue. It almost look hypnotic, right? Well, the fish keeps these distinct patterns until it reaches maturity, which usually takes around 4 years. Then the fish develops blue and yellow stripes, and black shading around its eyes. 2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphiprioninae Clownfish -- Did you recognize them from “Finding Nemo”? Known as one of the most brightly colored fish in the world, their bodies have distinctive white striping with colors that can vary from red, orange or yellow. They’re also known as anemone fishes, because of their mutually beneficial relationship with sea anemones. The toxic tentacles of the anemones protect clownfish from predators. And the fast movement of the fishes helps anemones find food and increase circulation. 1. The Mandarinfish -- Also known as the “Mandarin Dragonet” it swims in the Pacific reefs … but it’s less than 3 inches long so it can be difficult to see in the wild. As you might guess, this fish is highly sought after in the aquarium trade … but they’re considered extremely difficult to their strict eating habits. Some people think the Mandarinfish might be the most beautiful fish in the world … would you agree? to Epic Wildlife http://goo.gl/6rzs5u Let's Connect -- http://www.epicadamwildlife.com/ -- http://www.facebook.com/epicadamwildlife -- http://www.twitter.com/epicwildlife -- http://gplus.to/epicwildlife

Top 10 Coolest & Strangest New Species Discovered 2018 New Animals Found Ever

09:21
Top 10 Coolest & Strangest New Species Discovered In 2018 New Animals Found Ever Science has identified some 2.3 million above species of plants, animals and microbes on Earth, but scientists estimated there are millions more left to discover, and new species are constantly discovered and described. The most commonly discovered new species are typically insects, a type of animal with a high degree of biodiversity. Newly discovered mammal species are rare, but they do occur, typically in remote places that haven't been well studied previously. Some animals are found to be new species only when scientists peer at their genetic code, because they look outwardly similar to another species — these are called cryptic species. Some newfound species come from museum collections that haven't been previously combed through and, of course, from fossils. Read below for stories about newly discovered species, both alive on Earth today and those that once roamed the planet. Ningen Humanoid Giant Sea Creature from Antarctic Ocean

10:25
numerous vessels claim to have witnessed the massive humanoid-beings rise from the depths of the ocean. These mysterious creatures, are called Ningen which translates as “human” in Japanese. The first time this giant humanoid sea creature was seen, was by a Japanese research vessel, off the coast of Antarctica in the 1990s. According to witnesses, there are creatures who have a human-like shape, often with legs, arms, and even five-fingered hands. Sometimes they are described with fins or a large tail like that of mermaids. 💜 Subscribe and like if you enjoyed the video. The Biggest Unknown Underwater Creatures On Earth

12:16
Top 10 most amazing animals found in the ocean Subscribe to TheHub http://goo.gl/87YJzG For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Remember those fishing trips with your parents when you were just a kid? You’d be amazed every time you caught something, and your parents would act impressed, too, even if it was smaller than your palm. At the time you’d find it hard to believe that there were creatures in the ocean bigger than that. Obviously, now that you’ve grown older, you’re aware of some of the huge beasts that grace our seas. Of course, there’s the blue whale or the great white shark, but have you ever considered some of the lesser-known creatures out there? We’ve put together a list of some of the biggest living things you’ll find in the ocean – although they’re not necessarily all things you would like to catch. For example, you most definitely do not want to come across a Giant Spider Crab while paddling at the shore, although chance would be a fine thing, as they don’t tend to swim to the surface. Or what about the Fin Whale? A far friendlier giant, it’s one you should try and see in your lifetime – if it doesn’t get hunted into extinction anytime soon. If you’re venturing further afield, and happen to be in Antarctica, you might be lucky enough to be greeted by a Southern Elephant Seal. You’ll be surprised to find out why it’s named that, too. Some other interesting beasts in our video include the Lion’s Mane Jellyfish, the Oceanic Manta Ray and the Whale Shark, but you’ll have to watch the video to find out the rest.

The most terrifying thing about this little thing, and the reason for its sensational name, is its behavior towards its favorite food: cockroaches. It actually injects a paralyzing toxin into its prey's belly before eating the roach alive. The cockroach is only paralyzed by the toxin, not grilled, and has to watch as it’s being slowly devoured by the dementor wasp. Researchers named the newfound waspAmpulex dementor, or "dementor wasp" for short: The name was inspired by Harry Potter's dementors, ghostlike creatures that suck away a person's happiness and will to live. In May of last year, researchers described the pacified, poisoned roach to Live Science Magazine as a “passive zombie” that submits itself to being eaten alive. Ugh!! 12 - Goliath Birdeater Here’s another truly, terrifyingly weird entry to this list of assembled weirdos from the animal kingdom. This species was officially discovered in 2006 during an expedition to Guyana. It’s a burrowing spider, feeding primarily on invertebrates, though it’s also been observed eating small mammals, lizards, and venomous snakes. Wait, what? Yes, it even eats snakes. Fully grown specimens can reach a horrific weight of around six ounces. An almost half a pound spider!! Thankfully for us – and for any other creatures too large for this spider to eat – the Goliath Birdeater is a species of tarantula that has relatively weak venom, which only causes mild swelling and pain for a few hours. The only thing that poses the biggest threat to us humans is the goliath’s ability to expel hairs from its body. These tiny, nearly invisible hairs float through the air – and have an awful tendency to stick to the eyes and on the skin! 11 - Louisiana Pancake Batfish The Louisiana pancake batfish is a bizarre looking creature native to the Gulf of Mexico. The species was discovered in 2010, during the cleanup process following the infamous oil spill in the gulf, one of the most devastating ecological disasters. The Louisiana pancake batfish’s name comes from its shape, which quite closely resembles that of an unfortunately prepared pancake. The strange manner it has of moving along the ocean floor is described as being similar to the way a bat crawls. Like other batfish it has pectoral fins which resemble limbs. It uses these fins, together with their smaller pelvic fins, to 'walk' along the ocean floor. The pancake batfish feeds on invertebrates, which it captures using chemical lures. 10 - Acrobatic Arachnid This little guy is definitely not about to help anyone get over their arachnophobia. Forget about crawling up your leg or onto your pillow. This spider does gymnastics. This spider lives in the Moroccan sand dunes. The spider hides from predators in its own little sandcastles; towers made of silk and sand that also serve as a little bit of relief from the sun. When threatened, though this spider does something really weird: It breaks into a run that soon turns into a tumble. The spider basically starts cartwheeling at 6.5 feet per second up and down the dunes. 9 - Sea scorpion One of the most terrifying things in popular imagination since the Jaws movies has been the mystery of what lurks in the depths of the deep blue ocean underneath us. Sure, sharks are pretty terrifying, but during an excavation of an ancient meteorite impact crater in the Upper Iowa River, researchers uncovered the fossilized remains of human-sized sea scorpions with both pointy and paddle-shaped limbs. The sea scorpions likely ate bivalves and squishy eel-like creatures during their day, roughly about 460 million years ago. Giant scorpions crawling around the floor of the ocean? Let’s just hope they’re as extinct as scientist say and you don’t bump into one next time you’re on the beach!

9 Creepiest Ocean Discoveries

10:27
The creepiest ocean discoveries. These maritime finds are unique & most of these discoveries were made on beaches. Scientists & researchers are still trying to find out about where they came from. Support our Patreon today: https://www.patreon.com/theywillkillyou Subscribe for new videos: http://goo.gl/SaufF4 Follow us on Instagram: @theywillkillyou Voiceover by Carl Mason: [email protected] Number 9 Octopus Nursery Since octopi are known as solitary creatures, researchers were rather stunned when they found about a hundred of them nesting together near Costa Rica. However, another discovery would soon eclipse that one. In 2018, marine biologists deployed a remotely operated vehicle with the goal of studying an underwater volcano called the Davidson Seamount. As they were steering the vehicle at a depth of around 10,000 ft off the coast of California, it stumbled upon a creepy a sight. Between the volcano’s cracks there were numerous female octopi huddled together guarding their eggs. About a thousand Muusoctopus robustus were found in what is believed to be the world’s largest deep sea octopus garden. For those who find a mass of thousands of tentacles moving at the same time creepy, this is definitely a nightmare come true. Number 8 Hole in the Earth On the ocean floor, after tectonic plates separate, a void is left behind. The mantle underneath the plates then rises up and melts to fill that void. However, there’s a gap in the Earth that hasn’t repaired itself and scientists aren’t sure how it happened. The hole is located between Cape Verde islands and the Caribbean, about 3 miles below the surface. It’s an area where the sea floor is normally about 4.5 miles thick, but, upon examining the site, researchers found there was a lot of missing crust. In fact, an area of several thousand miles didn’t exhibit the typical signs of the plate repairing itself. Number 7 Ancoracysta twista Found on the surface of a tropical brain coral in 2017, this microorganism is largely still a mystery. There is some indication that Ancoracysta twista might belong to an early lineage of eukaryotic organisms. These are organisms with genetic material packed in a membrane-bound nucleus. However, so far, it seems this predatory microorganism isn’t closely related to anything in the animal kingdom. Ancoracysta twista is considered to be a protist, meaning that it isn’t plant, fungus or animal and doesn’t belong to any clade. Protists are often grouped with eukaryotes for convenience. Number 6 Disappearance of the Atlantic Ocean Even though there’s no cause for concern in the near future, researchers have recently discovered that one day the Atlantic Ocean might disappear entirely. This is due to a subduction zone 120 miles off the coast of Portugal. Subduction zones happen as a result of plates constantly pushing against each other, which usually results in lighter plates melting back into the mantle. Number 5 Zones Zones are exactly as terrifying as they sound. Nitrogen and phosphorus are among the most common nutrients and their presence can create algal blooms, which are an increase in density of certain types of algae. The oxygen-deprived habitat can have as little as only two oxygen particles for every one million particles. Number 4 Sea Sponge Chondrocladia lyra, also known as the harp sponge, was discovered in 2012, off the Coast of California at a depth of around 10,000 feet. The interesting thing about this sea sponge is the way it obtains its nutrients. Number 3 Creepy Glass Garden While a submersible was investigating the Marian Trough, in 2015, it discovered what so far is the deepest volcano on Earth. At 14,700 feet below the surface, they found a sight unlike they expected. Intertwined blackened lava tendrils had formed something that scientists described as a ‘garden of glass straight out of a nightmare’. The twist and turns covered a trench that was about 4.5 miles long. Number 2 White Shark Café Those who were terrified by the movie ‘Jaws’, might want to steer clear of this area. There’s a place in the Pacific Ocean, at the midpoint between Hawaii and the coast of California, known as the ‘White Shark Café’. Number 1 Giant Eyeball The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Committee had to deal with a mysterious find in October, 2012. Local man, Gino Covacci, found a giant eyeball that washed up on Pompano Beach. Covacci decided to take it home where he put it in the freezer. Afterwards, Covacci notified the local police, who referred it to the appropriate authorities. A little larger than a softball, the eyeball looked like it belonged to a massive marine creature.

It’s located on the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, and was formed over 6500 years ago, after a Manganese (manga-knees) Balls -- In 2015, scientists exploring the Atlantic Ocean were surprised to discover a huge patch of metal balls, some as small as golf balls, with others approximately the size of bowling balls. Turns out the metal balls are actually nodules made of manganese, and are commonly found in the Pacific, not the Atlantic. Scientists noted another difference … the nodules found in the Pacific usually have a flatter shape, while the ones from the Atlantic were very circular. Found at depths of 18000 feet, the nodules are thought to be 10 million years old … but their origin remains a mystery. The Churro Worm -- Four new species of an undersea creature were found 12000 feet underwater off the California coast. Called Xenoturbella (zen-ott-er-bella), they are fuschia colored flatworm-like creatures found on a whale carcass as well as on hydrothermal vents. One of the new species was christened ‘Xenoturbella Churro’, due to its resemblance to the Spanish fried-dough pastry. The four-inch long animal may have another claim to fame: It, along with its fellow species, could be related to us. In 2003, scientists at Cambridge claimed that Xenoturbella might share DNA with humans. Benthic (ben-tik) Comb Jelly -- Found within Japan’s Ryukyu (ree-you-kyou) Trench at an incredible depth of over 23,000 feet (7200 meters), this is the deepest dwelling known ctenophore (ten-uh-fur). The gelatinous organism can measure up to 8 cm wide and up to 20 cm long, and can attach itself to the ocean floor using two long filaments. Prior to its discovery in 2002, many scientists didn’t think it was possible for similar life forms to exist at such extreme depths, because food resources would be so scarce. The very existence of this animal suggests that there’s still much of the region’s ecosystem that remains unknown. Grand Underwater Canyon -- Named Zhemchug (gem-kug) Canyon, this huge underwater formation is located in the middle of the Bering Sea. Also defined as a submarine canyon, or a steep sided valley carved into the sea floor of the continental shelf, Zhemchug (gem-kug) is the largest such formation in the world … and reaching a depth of 8530 ft (2.6 km), it’s deeper than the Grand Canyon, with its deepest point being 6000 feet. The underwater canyon provides an important habitat to a wide range of ocean wildlife, including the Northern Fur Seal and many species of whale. Deep Diving Fish -- In 2010, marine biologists discovered a new type of snailfish almost 23,000 feet deep in the southeast Pacific Ocean. That’s nearly 4.5 miles below the ocean’s surface! In addition, groups of large crustacean scavengers and eels were found in the Peru-Chile trench of the ocean, which runs over 3600 miles and can reach depths of 26,000 feet. One of the deepest locations on earth, the area was previously thought to be completely free of fish. These discoveries might indicate there are thousands more unknown marine animals existing at extreme depths in the world’s oceans. In fact, a new species of snailfish was discovered in 2014 at a depth of over 26,000 feet by researchers using a remote operated vehicle while exploring the Mariana Trench in the Pacific. The Greater Barrier Reef -- The eastern coast of Australia is famous for the Great Barrier Reef … but now there may be a bigger, more spectacular reef on the south coast of the country. Take a look at some of these stunning pictures, and you can understand the excitement. Using a remote operated vehicle, researchers in 2015 explored depths up to 100 meters at Wilsons Promontory National Park in Victoria, Australia. Boulders the size of houses, and spectacular sponge gardens were some of the discoveries made ... along with coral fans and huge sea whips. Among the abundant fish species encountered were Australian barracudas, Longsnout Boarfish, and large schools of deep sea perch, known to grow over 2.5 feet long (80 cm). Park officials planned to analyze more footage to determine areas that might be safest for scuba divers. BIGGEST Sea Creatures Around The World!

Check out the biggest sea creatures around the world! This top 10 list of largest ocean animals on earth features some crazy monsters lurking in the deep sea! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "Most TERRIFYING Sea Monsters Ever!" video here: https://youtu.be/B9aPB6KB504 Watch our "CREEPY Fish From The Deep Sea!" video here: https://youtu.be/IjbRmTvO1_g Watch our "Most MYSTERIOUS Ocean Facts!" video here: https://youtu.be/BzrlpgRVPQg 10.) Fin Whale The fin whale is the second largest creature on Earth after the blue whale. It has been severely affected by commercial whaling and now it is rare to see one. If you have seen one, consider yourself lucky! They can grow as long as 89 feet (27 m) in length and can weigh between 40 to 80 tons! The maximum ever recorded weighed in at 114 tons!! They can live to be over 100 years old if left alone. The fin whale’s body is built for speed and it can even go faster than the fastest ocean steamship. It’s capable of speeds of up to 37 km/h but can go short bursts of even 47 km/h, earning it the nickname “greyhound of the sea”. Fin Whales have a very unique coloring with the right underside of their jaw, right lip, and the right side of their baleen being a yellowish-white, while the left-side is gray, making them look asymmetrical. Fun fact, fin whales and blue whales make the lowest frequency sounds of any animals. When they were first recorded by submarines, scientists thought they were tectonic plates grinding. Kind of makes you wonder about what is causing other mysterious ocean sounds! 9.) Portuguese Man of War While this is often considered a jellyfish, the Portuguese man-of-war is actually not an “it” but a “they”! It is made up of a colony of organisms called polyps that work together known as a siphonophore. While the tentacles can extend 165 feet (50 m), the average is about 30 feet (9 m) long. Still nothing to scoff at!! Also known as “the floating terror”, their body is between 5 inches to a foot wide (13 cm- 130 cm). They are usually found in groups of about a thousand or more, and have no independent means of movement. They either drift on the currents or catch the wind, so even though you should be super careful of jellyfish, they aren’t ever out to get you on purpose! The tentacles on a man-of-war are extremely venomous and very painful if you get stung but they are rarely deadly. The venom is typically used to paralyze their prey, such as small fish and other smaller creatures. Also keep in mind that a man-of-war does not need to be alive in order to give off a powerful sting, even if it has washed up on shore and looks dead, it can still sting you! The Portuguese man-of-war floats around the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Indian and Pacific. So keep an eye out if you are swimming around these areas! 8.) Giant Clam The giant clam is the largest living bivalve mollusk on earth. (Bivalve mollusks include clams, oysters, and mussels). Native to the warm waters of Australia's Great Barrier Reef, giant clams are capable of growing an average of 4 feet (1 m) in length and weighing close to 500 pounds (250 kg)! However, some species of clams have been known to grow as long as 6 feet. The large majority of a giant clam’s mass is in its shell, with the soft parts accounting for only approximately 10% of the weight. Giant clams are now endangered because they apparently are also quite delicious and have been hunted for centuries for its healthy protein. The giant clam has one chance to find its perfect home because once it chooses its spot, it stays there for the rest of its life. They can live up to 100 years or more, as long as they are in the wild. Most of the giant clams you see today have been raised in captivity and are really popular in large aquariums. Giant clams achieve their enormous proportions by consuming the sugars and proteins produced by the billions of algae that live in their tissues. This symbiotic relationship protects the algae and they are responsible for the unique coloration. No two giant clams are alike! 7.) Great White Shark According to National Geographic, great white sharks are the largest predatory fish in the world. They grow to an average of 15 feet (4.6 m) in length. However, there have been some who have grown to 20 feet (6 m) in length! In fact, the largest Great White Shark ever recorded in the wild was estimated to be 26 feet long, which is more than half the length of a basketball court. Combine this with a bunch of teeth, and this is why people get so scared. They are known to weigh up to 5,000 pounds (2268 kg). The heaviest Great White Shark ever recorded in the wild was estimated to weigh in at a whopping 7,328 pounds. . New Species Discovered Underwater By NOAA's Deep-Sea Robot

02:05
Thousands of feet below the Pacific Ocean’s surface, a deep sea-exploring robot spotted some unusual marine life 900 miles west of Hawaii. At 8,380 feet below sea level, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration robot spotted a never-before-seen snailfish that, scientists say, is likely a new species. A tiny Hydrozoan jellyfish was also observed feasting on bamboo corals. But not all discoveries were so cute. A gruesome-looking anglerfish was discovered lurking to ambush unsuspecting prey. At nearly a foot long, it’s one of the largest fish living at these depths. The discoveries are part of a three-year mission to collect data around U.S. waters. Although these scientists continue to make finds, they’re only scratching the surface of the bottom of our oceans. 10 Biggest Sea Creatures Ever Caught

05:42
You won't believe that fishermen actually caught these gigantic sea monsters! Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg SyFy recently aired the third film in their so-bad-its-good “Sharknado” series, prompting some to wonder if airborne, tornado-based sharks could actually be real. Okay, so no one is really wondering that. Still, though, the ocean continues to represent a great unknown to us, providing home to countless species, many of which remain a mystery to humanity. The more we learn about what lurks deep below the surface, the more we realize still remains uncovered. With two-thirds of the Earth’s surface covered in water, it stands to reason that a great deal of that space remains unexplored. Of course, just because humankind hasn’t covered every iota of ground along the ocean floor, it doesn’t mean that those areas are uninhabited. All we know for sure is that the truly deepest depths of the world’s oceans continue to offer surprises, even as scientific technology becomes increasingly advanced. New species unlike any others known before are routinely discovered, with entirely new and alien biomes in extreme environments that no life had even been thought possible have challenged our very notions of what life is and how it has evolved. Amidst the cold darkness of a low-lying ocean area with depths that no sunlight can penetrate lies an alien world of incredibly rare and mysterious species. While many are simple, harmless omnivores, they share the ocean floor with some pretty unsettling forces. These ocean-based creatures – those that we know about, anyway – change everything we think we know about fish. Each one has at least one predominant feature that stands out as being unlike anything seen before. Think you know sharks? Well, how about one with a saw-like nose or a frilly, eel-like body. Think you’ve seen some big fish? How about a 17-metre long swimmer or a 900-pound squid or even a 5,000-pound behemoth sunfish? Lurking within the ocean are a number of deadly, threatening, vicious creatures that are naturally designed and programmed to hunt and stalk their prey. Thankfully, most of these monsters live at pressures that humans could never survive at – not that they would survive long down there, anyway. In recent years, Hollywood has sparked a fascination with zombies, aliens and other forces that exist beyond the realms of our planet and that are not steeped in reality. Despite that, some of the strangest and most terrifying creatures in the universe lie beneath the surface of bodies of water with which we are, at least partially, familiar. As we sit on a beach staring out at the natural beauty of the Pacific Ocean, we remain blissfully oblivious to all that lurks within. This list seeks to open the door to an entire world of deep sea activity, featuring a cast of creepy and spooky characters that few even know exist. These 10 fish, some of whom may seem to be borne out of your darkest nightmares, are all very real and may give you second thoughts the next time you foray into the ocean. 8 Best Camouflaged Sea Creatures

11:26
Octopus, Cuttlefish, and other sea creatures use camouflage and mimicry to hide from predators and capture prey. Subscribe for the latest videos: https://goo.gl/7xzjzR Number 8 Crocodilefish The crocodilefish, also known as the Giant flathead, is a fish of medium size that can grow up to 20 inches long with an average recorded size of 14 inches. It may be found in the western Pacific Ocean, in the coastal waters of the Philippines, Borneo, Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia and Palau. Crocodilefish have elongated bodies with particularly flat heads that almost resemble duck bills. They dwell at the bottom of shallow waters, often camouflaging themselves on semi-exposed or sheltered reefs. The intensity of the coloration that adults have on their bodies varies in accordance to their surroundings. Crocodilefish are ambush predators that take advantage of their camouflage to capture their pray which mostly consist of crustaceans and smaller fish. Number 7 Penguins Penguins use a camouflage technique known as countershading, which is one of the most common forms of marine camouflage. While they are in the water, their black and white patterns help hide them from both predators and prey. The darker top half of the animal blends with the dark waters below and the lighter half blends in with the waters above. The high contrast on the penguin’s body makes it one of the best known examples of animals that use the countershading technique. Number 6 Leafy Sea Dragon The Leafy Sea Dragon may be found along the western and southern coasts of Australia. Its body is covered in long leaf-like protrusions, a feature that gives this marine fish the ‘leafy’ part of its name. The ‘dragon’ component of its name is derived from the resemblance it bears to the mythical creature. The leafy sea dragon’s appearance offers an excellent form of camouflage due to the lobes of skin that grow on its body. These characteristics give it the appearance of seaweed. Number 5 Decorator Crab Decorator crabs are known for using materials from their environments in order to hide from predators. They can also ward off predators by attaching noxious organisms to their body. These organisms display various warning signs of their toxicity, such as bright colors, in order to discourage potential predatory attacks, a concept known as aposematism. Number 4 Deep-sea hatchetfish Deep-sea hatchetfish, also known as marine hatchetfish, are found in the temperate, subtropical and tropical waters of the Indian, Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. They range in size with smaller species averaging 1.1 inches long to the Giant hatchetfish, which averages 4.5 inches long. Much like its name would indicate, this creature is found in deeper parts of the ocean, at depths ranging from 160 to 4,900 feet below. Number 3 Big Blue Octopus The big blue octopus is found both in the Indian and Pacific Oceans in the reefs and shallow water of regions that range from the eastern coast of Africa to Hawaii. It is a predator with a diet consisting mainly of mollusks, shrimp, fish and crabs. Number 2 Mimic Octopus The Mimic Octopus can use its highly flexible body to impersonating other sea creatures. It can also change its texture and color to blend into the environment. It uses pigment sacs known as chromatophores to blend in with nearby coral or algae-encrusted rocks. The mimic octopus is the only known marine animal that is able to take shape of such a wide variety of objects and animals. It uses this shape-shifting ability to capture prey as well as evade or intimidate predators. It may choose to mimic a crab as an apparent mate only to then devour potential suitors. Unlike most octopus, which tend to use coral reefs as shelter, the mimic octopus also prefers river mouths and estuaries. The exact number of species it can mimic is not known, but most of them are poisonous. Lionfish, sea snakes, flatfish, and jellyfish are among the most common animals that this octopus imitates. Depending on the creatures it encounters, the mimic octopus will also decide which mimicry behavior is best suited for each situation. Number 1 Cuttlefish Cuttlefish, are often referred to as chameleons of the sea’ for their ability of blending into their surroundings by quickly changing their colors. This creature’s skin has three optical components, which are arranged vertically, that enable it to reflect or absorb light. In response to visual information, cuttlefish use the neutrally-controlled chromatophore to change the pattern or the color of their skin. Researchers have discovered that these cells contain luminescent protein nanostructures that give the cuttlefish its ability to quickly make elaborate changes in pigmentation.

16 Bizarre Creatures Discovered in the Mariana Trench

10:44
From unidentified floating objects, to the scariest predators in the deep seas; Here are 16 bizarre creatures discovered in the Mariana Trench Subscribe to Epic Wildlife http://goo.gl/6rzs5u Let's Connect -- http://www.epicadamwildlife.com/ -- http://www.facebook.com/epicadamwildlife -- http://www.twitter.com/epicwildlife -- http://gplus.to/epicwildlife Deep sea dragonfish Even though it’s a fish, the creature has the appearance of an eel. It has slippery slimy skin, and possesses no scales. But it does have a terrifying face with huge choppers that more than validate its scary name. They found in cold, dark waters some 6,000 feet below the surface 1828 m). It uses bioluminescent body parts to create a glow that is used for several purposes. It can be used to provide camouflage, or to communicate with others of its kind. The glow from its barbel (kind of like a whisker) dangles from its lower jaw and serves to attract prey, which mistake it for an easy dinner. Instead, the would-be predator becomes an easy meal for the dragonfish! Orb Jelly One of the strangest creatures ever seen was found in the Mariana Trench in 2016. In the picture, the marine animal looks like some sort of orb that’s radiating bolts of energy from its surface. Others think it looks more like a Christmas ornament! But experts have identified it as a jellyfish … and it was located more than 12,000 feet deep (3,700m) in the Mariana Trench. The shapes that appear like energy bolts are the creature’s tentacles. The bright yellow shapes might be the critter’s gonads. And the reddish color in the bell might be its radial canals. So researchers have identified its genus, but hadn’t officially assigned it a name. But they do suggest that it could represent a completely new species! Sea Devil Anglerfish The name is about as scary as the fish look. With its oddly shaped body and mouthful of razor teeth, they look like they could have swum up from the depths of hell. Their procreation is scary, too. The male will essentially fuse himself to the larger female until the two fish become one. He later serves to fertilize the female’s eggs at the right time. Did you know the creature’s jaws can open wide enough to swallow prey larger than itself? The Dumbo Octopus Maybe it’s fitting that the strange cephalopod is named for its resemblance to Walt Disney’s Dumbo, the flying elephant … because the creature kind of looks like a Disney creation. Its fins that appear like prominent ears inspired the nickname. But it's cartoonish appearance is enhanced by large eyes and an odd puckered mouth. They’re among the rarest octopuses, and the deepest dwelling member of their order. They’re known to live up to 23,000 feet below the surface. While they can camouflage themselves by changing color, the animals have a trait this is definitely un Disney-like: They eat their prey whole! Before getting to our number one creature, here’s an Honorable Mention … You likely would not expect to find Humans in the Mariana Trench, right? Without using Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs), there’s no way we could survive those crushing depths. But evidence of humans has been found there. Scientists say that extraordinary levels of pollution have been discovered more than 6 miles (10km) deep in the Trench. Along with plastic bags and tin cans littering the seafloor, evidence of high levels of banned industrial chemicals are contaminating marine life there. Amphipods (small prawn-like crustaceans) collected were found to have extremely high levels of toxic chemicals. Experts say that once the chemicals seep to the bottom of the trench, there's nowhere else it can go … and that leads to high levels of contamination. So it looks like there’s no area on the Earth remote enough to get away from ourselves! Fangtooth Fish -- They can live at extreme, icy depths of over 16,000 feet, some of the darkest parts of the ocean. With such a nightmarish appearance, it’s hard to believe the creature is only around six inches long, … and poses no known threat to humans. Looking at the picture, you can see how large the teeth are. In fact, those choppers are the largest teeth of any fish … proportionate to body size!

Bizarre 'alien' sea creature caught off Singapore | New York Post

00:29
A fisherman in Singapore reeled in a bizarre 'alien' sea creature straight out of a science fiction movie. When Ong Han Boon spotted his line going up and down at his favorite fishing spot on the island of Sentosa, the 54-year-old had a feeling he was about to snag himself something special for lunch, Central European News reports. But when the sea dweller broke the surface, the fisherman was confused by the strange animal. “When I pulled it out of the water, I was completely flummoxed by what I was looking at,” he told a local radio station. “I’ve had quite a few odd things come out of the ocean, but I have never seen anything like this before in my life. It had all these arms waving around.” Twisting and curling its alien-like body, the creature looks like some sort of mutant starfish. Boon captured its bizarre and freakish movements in remarkable video, which he posted online in hopes that someone could identify the animal. “I’ve asked all my friends and none of them know and all my Internet searches have not turned up anything that looks like this,” he said. Even though our oceans cover a whopping 71 percent of the Earth’s surface, more than 95 percent of the underwater universe has yet to be explored, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. “So, if no one can’t identify it, then I guess I’m right,” Boon said. “It’s either an alien or I’ve discovered a new species of mutant sea creature, which would not surprise me with all the pollution they put in the water nowadays.” #bizarre #alien #StrangeCreatures The New York Post is your source for breaking news, news about New York, sports, business, entertainment, opinion, real estate, culture, fashion, and more.
