Tristan, you don't really delve into why you choose a particular product, the search criteria goes as follows “I might test this product because I like it, or I might test this product because it's interesting”, you may as well print out the recommendations list on Amazon and AliExpress and then throw a.dart at it, whichever product the.lands on then test that .
........ oooo I might try that
One of the biggest questions I see circling online is ‘what is the best niche’. As simple as that question sounds, there’s no actual ‘right’ answer. It’s the same as asking someone ‘what’s the best tasting food?’ Well doesn’t it depend on your personal taste?
Sure, there are areas which seem to be doing better than others but there’s an infinite number of factors that affect the success of a product inside of the business itself.
To straighten out a few thoughts running through the internet, I will suggest a few niches that are probably best to avoid.
Large and heavy goods
Elaborating on large and heavy goods, this category is quite heavily problematic to deal with. You will obviously have to face shipping issues that are unfavourable when dealing with large and heavy goods. The issues arise from shipping costs being immensely high, not to mention the complexity of dealing with returns. You will most likely see that your potential client will save themselves your higher prices and they’ll find no reason to buy big products online, instead, they’ll buy from a physical store elsewhere near them.
Going back to finding out what the best niche to market is, the real idea to grasp is this – you can have the best product but if you don’t know how to market it, you won't make any money from it.
A similar way as having the worst product. If you know how to market it you can make the best money.
But if you really excel in both finding a good niche along with having great marketing skills, you’ll be a money fountain.
It’s not necessarily the product, but it's your skills in business that can determine the success of you get.
A good tip I give my students is to find a good niche that is a high ticket product. This simply means a product that has a high-profit margin. This is because ‘net profit is king.’
There are so many businesses that make an amazing turn over, but when you look deeper into their statistics their net profit is next to nothing and this is because they don’t have high ticket products. For example, some businesses will be getting products for $10 and selling them for $20. This $10 will have to cover multiple costs like social media adverts and taxes, fees from the website such as stripe fees and PayPal fees. You will be left with nothing when taking away costs from these type of non-high ticket products.
In terms of providing a solution for marketing the right thing, I always suggest branding your own products – that’s where the money is at. People like branded things in search for better quality, better service, self-fulfilment and so on. It means you can sell the products for more, allowing you to charge higher prices and generate much healthier margins.
People love to follow brands which enables branding to give you power over customers. Look at Apple, whatever they market and put on sale, people will buy. They have complete power over their customers, with the ability to capture recurring customers.
Another great thing about branding is that it’s one of the best ways to get identified. The ability to get noticed instantly by the logo, slogan or general brand image, is pretty much free marketing. People will buy your products, others will see them and notice the brand image and potentially become a customer. All from branding.
To clarify this post, there really is no such thing as ‘the best niche' it’s more about what you do with that niche. Learning how to successfully market the products is what stimulates the success. Dedicate your time to better yourself by learning. Keeping on top of your knowledge and learning from various sources and even other experts in your field is key. Things are forever changing and there's always someone who knows more than you do.
Excellent tip mate. Once you have selected the items you want to test, do you create an specific shopify store for each one of those products if they are not related? or you have created already a broad store like for the clocks a houseware store which include as well kitchenware?. Cheers all the best
Hello, Thank you for this valuable content. Can you please make a video on how you create your facebook ad for said products. I am really interested in how you pick your demographic and how you narrow it down.
Thanks, Tristan! I am developing a Webapp to make product research in Aliexpress very easy. Your videos are helping me a lot! You can see how it work in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-Z9ezs5GXc&t=3s
So I found a really cool and promising product which people will definitely be passionate about. There is one video on facebook with about 500k views from a few days ago. Should I still try it out? I could definitely beat the price and make it 2-3 dollars less exprensive. thanks!
@Tristan .... i like this more than liking dropshipping stores and checking their latest products with commerce inspector.... dou you need to do both ? or is this amazon/aliexpress option better and more sufficient ?
Hi everyone! I have been living in China for 4 years now. My Chinese is very good. I can contact the suppliers here and have them send your product to my apartment here where I can take unique pictures and videos of the product. It is better than using other people’s pictured and stock photos. Your product would get to me faster than it would you. So you can get your ad pics and videos up quick. If you think this type of service would be valuable to you, then please message me!
Hi Tristan. Really good ideas, thank you. I always thought that selling best sellers already, is not the best tactic, its kind of to late already :)
I wonder if you tried to use this tactic to find and advertise those products on Google? it's little different approach compared to FB ads. On Google you must present products that people are already searching for or very similar. New unknown products would be harder to sell on Google. FB ads need some wow-factor and be really new unseen before... What are your thoughts about it?
Hey Tristan, other than stripe, what other merchants/payment gateways do you use as an Australian? Ive been told dropshipping is now a high risk business and it seems getting a high risk merchant account is much more difficult here in Australia vs USA. Would love your ideas... Thanks!
I am not clear. once you go to facebook and find the same or similar product as aliexpress; then
1. On facebook, how do you know based on the # of views that it is a good products? (are you just cross referancing with the number of orders on Aliexpress?). what will be a good amount of views or orders?
2. How do I know if the product has really been around for a while?
3. your Product winner Cheat Sheet link does not work
Thanks for the video
Is there a best price range on products to stay in that impulse purchase range? When searching facebook there are aliexpress links at the bottom of the page a lot of the time. This worries me, that people might just stumble across Aliexpress instead of my marked up store. Thanks for the info!
Loving Product Winner Blueprint. This video is great - quick question on price points: Following this and the product research methods from your course, I came up with a couple products that would be around $50 (US) retail. Too high to test? Or do you recommend I start testing with products closer to $20? Thanks!
I know it differs for different niches but what would be the benchmark percentage or if you could give certain number(so many likes, so many orders, so many shares etc) as a criteria to test the product after research.
I find your videos very interesting :) but i have some questions for you :) Do you have problem with your customers complaining about long shipping time? what percentage of your customers ask for a refund or how often do you get charge back from your customers because of long shipping time also what is the average time for the customer to receive their package? sorry I asked so many questions. I just donot want to get my merchant account banned because of customer complaints regarding long shipping time from Aliexpress. I am currently selling on amazon and Ebay, selling supplements. I use Amazon FBA and for my Ebay customers I ship them my self and I still get complaints everyday for Item taking 6 or 7 days to be delivered. I appreciate your insight on this :)

This is what the amazing method I'm looking for Bro. Thank you so much Tristan! This is so useful and most of the gurus don't teach this concept. Would Like to suggest any software to find winning products bro? Reply will be appreciated!
After spending hours and days watching e commerce videos on youtube, i can tell you right now that you’re like no others. I have not spent a penny on courses from other gurus that promote their courses with their lifestyle and cars. After watching 3 of your videos, i decided to take a leap of faith and join your course immediately, i have confidence in this decision because if your free contents are this informative and good i cant imagine what your courses will look like.
Winning product means a product that is selling very nicely. If you find a winning product than if you make $1000 and if you find a product and make that winning than you will make $2000
So the thing is you don't need a winning product, you find a good product and make that winning.
Hey Tristan, thanks for you videos!
I have a question: to you recommend putting price into ad text? From one side, you will have more conversion rate. From the other, your clickrate will be lower. What do you suggest?
Gandalf as a Maia (named Olórin) before leaving the Undying Lands.
Originally called Olórin , he was accounted as the wisest of the Maiar (with the possible exception of Melian). He was a Maia of Manwë and Varda. He also served under two other Valar, such as Irmo and Nienna. When the Valar decided to send the order of the Istari (also known as Wizards) to Middle-earth, to counsel and assist all those in Middle-earth who opposed the Dark Lord Sauron, Manwë and Varda decided to include Olórin among the five who were sent.
At first, Olórin was nervous and described himself as too weak and too afraid of Sauron. Manwë understood, and told him that that was one main reason why he should go, to overcome that fear. Thus, he insisted that Olórin should go as the third, but Varda convinced him not to include Olórin as the third, but as the second. Olórin agreed, and prepared for his departure from the Undying Lands with the other four wizards.
Arrival in Middle-earth.
When he arrived to Middle-earth, he received Narya, the ring of fire, from Círdan the Shipwright. Olórin, renamed Gandalf , spent many centuries walking among the elves as a stranger, learning from them and teaching them. He later revealed himself as one of the Istari, and eventually became known as the wisest of and most powerful of that order. He joined the White Council, which was formed to investigate a dark power in Dol Guldur, of which Galadriel wanted him to become the leader, yet Saruman came to lead the Council instead of him. Although Saruman was initially more powerful and more knowledgeable about many matters regarding Sauron and the Rings of Power, and was head of the White Council before the War of the Ring, he later grew jealous and afraid of Gandalf, which was the reason of his betrayal.
